Lithium – Breaking China’s battery monopoly and making 100 million BEVs per year by 2032 #19

China currently makes 79% of the world’s lithium-ion batteries that are critical for making battery electric vehicles, smart phones and portable computers.
Moreover, China equally dominates the entire supply chain for making lithium-ion batteries with the exception of mining raw materials for lithium.

This is a huge security problem for the world as China is well known for using its economic and military powers for intimidation of other countries.

This video investigates the supply chain with regard to lithium for making lithium-ion batteries.

It also answers the question of how hard it will be to brake China’s battery monopoly and still be able to make enough lithium and lithium-based materials for making 100 million BEVs per year by 2032
